INSTRUCTIONS FOR STUDENTS AND TEST TAKERS
1 CHOOSE THE RIGHT VERSION OF THE COURSE:
Please be informed that there are several versions of the Danelec Marine ECDIS. When selecting the course for training or for the exam of your choice, please make sure that you select the correct version.
2. COURSE MATERIALS AND STUDY INFORMATION:

Course materials may be downloaded at any time, as per your convenience from the right-hand-side of this page.

Please make sure to install all study materials on your computer for exam preparation.

This is a self-study course. It is the student’s responsibility to go through the course materials and prepare before signing up for the examination.

Once you feel that you are prepared to sit for the examination, please refer to the following sections for more information.
Students are only allowed to sit for an examination one time. If the student fails the exam, the student must request for a re-examination within one week from the date of completing the examination.
There will be no re-evaluation and no re-checking.
Should you have any questions during the self-study period, you have the following options:
- Option One: Post a question – All posted questions will be answered - within 24 hours by one of our instructors and/or examiners.
- Option Two: Request for an interactive session, compromising of a “chat” with one of our instructors and ask them your questions directly. This facility is available FOC to all prospective candidates and registered students.
3. REGISTRATION FOR EXAMINATION:
Once you are ready to give the exam, you must have yourself registered.
Please upload the following documents online in order to complete the registration process and schedule an examination time with one of our instructors.
3.1 DOCUMENTS REQUIRED:
- Active Passport
- Passport size photograph
- Sea-fearers’ Book
- Generic ECDIS Certificate (confirming that you have completed the course and passed or cleared the exam.)
- If you do not have a Valid certificate confirming your Generic ECDIS training and certification, please visit IMO Generic 1.27.
3.2 VERIFICATION AND SPONSORSHIP:

At the time of Registration, there are two options regarding payment of fees:
Option One: Remit the fees of EUR 350 (excluding Bank Charges) to A. S. Moloobhoy & Sons. If you choose to do so, please select "INDIA" from Country drop-down and "A.S. Moloobhoy Training Centre" as the Dealer.

After you make the payments, please attach the proof of SWIFT transfer transaction and e-mail it to us at training@asmoloobhoy.com long with candidate name and e-mail ID.
Option Two: Contact your local Danelec Marine Dealer who will be sponsoring you for this exam and request it to make the payment directly to Danelec Marine. You will be required to select the Country and the Danelec Marine Dealer from the drop-down list.

Once you have filled in the form and uploaded all your documents, a verification process will be conducted by us.

If you qualify to take the examination, then our Training Centre will get in touch with the specified Danelec Marine ECDIS dealer for the respective payment and confirmation.

After your Danelec Marine Dealer has accepted your sponsorship and arranged for complete payment of examination fees, you will receive a confirmation e-mail from us with an Username and Password to gain access to our portal.
4. IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING EXAMINATION:

The Danelec Marine ECDIS online certification is a two-step process:
- Take a multiple-choice Online Exam (passing grade 70%).
- Take a Live-Cam Interview (passing grade 70%).
- Scores for both are out of 100%
- Please note that one score does not affect the other and you need to pass in both to qualify as being eligible for the certification

From the time of allotment of your Username and Password, you are given a maximum time period of 4 weeks to schedule your online test.

Should you be giving a re-examination, you will to re-schedule in one week from the date of failing it the first time.

There is no limit to the number of attempts you are granted to attempt the re-examination.
In the unlikely event of non-appearing for this exam within the maximum four weeks period, your fees will be forfeited and you will have to re-register.
Disclaimer: A. S. Moloobhoy and Sons Pvt. Ltd. reserves the right to pass or fail any student based on the results of their tests and their overall aptitude and skill.
Should a student not be competent at completing all levels of testing, then we will be forced to fail that student.
5. TESTING PROCEDURE AND CERTIFICATION

The Online Exam is a 45 minutes test, of 25 questions (each of four marks) with multiple-choice answers based on the course materials provided earlier and you will need a secure internet connection to your laptop / computer during this process.

After taking the Online Exam and passing at or above a 70% score, you can then book a day and time slot in the schedule to appear for a Live-Cam Interview, with one of our Training Instructors. Please feel free to email us with questions and availability options.
Time slots are IST (Indian Standard Time), so if you are from overseas, then please factor in the applicable time difference accordingly.

The Live-Cam Interview is a 30 minutes session and our instructor/examiner will ask you questions to test your knowledge and abilities on the Danelec Marine ECDIS.

If you pass the Live-Cam Interview, your examination results will be sent directly to Danelec Marine for issuing a certificate. Congratulations! This means you have passed!
If you fail, please re-start the process again. There are no re-evaluations for this test.

Your final certificate will be issued directly from Danelec Marine.

You must download the certificate from our website using the same username/password one week from taking the test and passing.
